GENEVA "COINTRIN" AIRPORT TRANSFERS:
Our nearest airport is Geneva (in Switzerland) which is well serviced from London and other parts of the UK along with many other major destinations worldwide. Easy Jet, British Airways, Swiss are just some of the major airlines flying into Geneva. Driving time between Geneva airport and the chalet is around 1 1/4 hours. We have arranged our included transfers to facilitate your journey to and from the airport when booking morning flights. If you are travelling later in the day you can easily book in advance a shared transfer which will cost you around 25 Euros per person one way.
In Winter our change around day is Sunday and in summer Saturday.
The included transfer departs from the airport to the chalet at 13.15.
The return transfer leaves the chalet at 07.30 and will arrive at the airport at approximately 09.00. Remember European time is one hour ahead of UK time.
In addition to the normal airport (Geneva Cointrin) there is a small charter airport about ten minute's walk away that is only open at weekends in winter for charter flights. If you land at the charter airport you will need to walk the ten minutes to the main airport building.
Text Oliver (+33 6 85586614) the moment the plane touches down. Once inside the airport, go through Swiss passport control and enter the luggage claim area. Then proceed straight ahead passing through Swiss customs into the arrivals lounge on the Swiss side Don't follow any signes towards the French sector. Oposite you you will see the airport information Desk. Turn left and just before the glass doors at the exit into the airport railway station you will see a flower shop, the "Relay" news agency shop and Martels Cafe on the left hand side. Opposite the Relay news agency shop there is a public sitting area. Oliver will be there with his dog (a fox terrier called Dylan) at the seating area at 13.00 for a 13.15 (1.15pm) departure. If Dylan isn't there he will have a sign saying "Chalet Savoy". At any time you can text or phone Oliver on +33 6 85586614..
Your flight should be scheduled to land in Geneva before 12.30. If your flight is less than an hour delayed we will wait for you. Should the delay be more than one hour we will help you to book an alternative transfer which you can pay for. In order to do this you will need to text or ring Oliver on mobile phone +33 6 85586614 as soon as you know there will be a delay.
Should you land early, there are plenty of cafes and shops in Geneva airport. The adjacent buiding is the airport railway station and there is a left luggage there (on the right as you enter from the airport and marked "Baggages" If you have time you can visit the centre of Geneva. All trains stop after a few minutes at Geneva "Cornavin" - Central station and from there it's just a few minutes to the lake and a few minutes more to the Rhone bridges and the old town.
